If you are looking for a place where you are welcome, where you can make friends, where you can be involved in impact producing service to the community, where you can be challenged by the study of God’s word, and where you can center your life through dynamic worship, Zion is the place for you.
This congregation of 1000 baptized Christians shares the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ with all of our neighbors here in the East and West Hempfield townships of Lancaster County by being a full-service Lutheran community of faith. I am sure we have a program of ministry that will encourage you. I invite you to come and visit with us. We would love to meet you.
I hope you will come and see the exciting things God is doing for his people here at Zion.
In Jesus Christ, God is on a mission to love, bless, and save this world – that includes you! God also calls each of us to participate in that mission. The guy who fixes your car, the lady who does your hair, that co-worker in the next cubicle, those children on the soccer team, and your family are all among the people God wants to love, bless, and save.
Ever since I was a teenager, I’ve had a passion for God’s mission in this world. I credit that passion to a young couple who lead my congregation’s youth group. They demonstrated in word and deed God’s unconditional love, grace, and mercy. They challenged me to live in that love and to use the gifts God had given me to share that love with others.
As Zion’s Associate Pastor for Outreach and Evangelism, I am called to assist people in living out their calling to be God’s missionaries in their daily life. This happens through preaching, teaching, informal conversations, leadership teams, small groups, community service projects, and mission trips, just to name a few. The people of Zion are committed participating in God’s mission to love, bless and save this world… beginning right in our own neighborhoods and communities.
I began my ministry with Zion Lutheran in January, 2006. I was ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) in 1994. Prior to that, I served six years in staff ministry as a lay person. All of my ministry experience has been in the area of evangelism and outreach. Beyond the congregation, I serve as a member of the ELCA Region 8 Transformational Leadership Team, which leads semi-annual workshops for congregational leaders.
My immediate family includes my husband, Steven, and daughter Rebekah. We have a Basset Hound named Buddy and a cat named Buttercup. We live in Red Lion, PA. As a family we enjoy music, bike riding, spending time together, and summer vacation at Camp Nawakwa.
